Commercial refurbishment
Premises ready for their next use — on a schedule that fits your business.
Refurbishing or altering commercial premises is rarely just a renovation: the space has to serve a new tenant, a new concept or a growing team, and it often has to be ready by a specific date. That makes the schedule and a clear division of responsibility as important as the quality of the work.
We deliver commercial refurbishments and alterations as main contractor for businesses and property owners — shops, offices and other commercial premises.
What a commercial refurbishment includes
- Demolition and clearing the space
- Building and altering partition walls
- Suspended ceiling installation
- Floor coating and covering
- Painting and skimming
- Fitting and installation of fixtures
- Final clean before the space is taken into use
Before you alter the space
If the use of the space changes — from an office to a shop, for example — the change may require a permit from the municipal building control authority. In rented premises, alterations are always agreed with the landlord as well.
In properties built before 1994, demolition is preceded by a statutory asbestos survey.
Work that fits around your operations
When the space is partly in use, the work can be phased and timed to disrupt operations as little as possible. The schedule and working hours are agreed before work begins.
Because we also do construction and post-renovation cleaning, the space can be handed over clean and ready to use.

Common questions
Can the premises be refurbished while the business keeps running?
Often, yes. The work can be phased and timed to disrupt operations as little as possible. We go through the options at the site visit.
Do alterations need a permit?
Changes to surfaces and lightweight partitions usually do not, but a change of use, structural changes and changes affecting escape routes, for example, may require a building control permit. It is worth establishing the permit requirement before work begins.
Do you alter premises for a new tenant?
Yes. Our clients include both businesses and property owners, and we also alter premises for incoming tenants.
Is the final clean included?
The final clean can be included in the same contract, so the space is handed over clean and there is no separate cleaning company to schedule.
